Juha has over twenty years of experience in protecting trademarks and design in Finland and internationally. Prior to joining Roihu, he served his clients in his own company. Previously he worked for 18 years at Finland’s leading trademark and patent office, and at the beginning of his career as a trademark lawyer at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office.

Over the years, Juha has represented internationally significant companies in Finland (including S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 companies) as well as Finnish listed companies in their intellectual property-related application, agreement, and dispute matters both in Finland and abroad. His responsibilities have also included strategic planning, consulting, advice, training, and legal representation in IP matters, Juha has also handled IP matters of startups and other smaller companies from the outset.

Juha is responsible for Roihu’s IP practice and advises our clients on questions related to protecting, defending, and commercializing intellectual property rights. His extensive experience in trademark preliminary research, utilizing international monitoring services, and conducting novelty searches for designs adds value to our clients in the form of successful protections. The tools used also enable efficient industry and competitor monitoring. Juha’s services include strategic planning, consultation, advice, and training in the IP field.

Additionally, Juha provides expert opinions on trademarks and design infringement cases, counterfeit product prevention, IP-related agreements, and litigation related to the aforementioned. He also assists our clients in IP-related matters concerning various transactions and employment relationships.

Outside of work, Juha loves music ranging from classical to hefty Chicago blues and plays the harmonica loud and high.
