Residential Health

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has issued a regulation on the health conditions of housing and other residential buildings under the Health Protection Act. Health conditions refer to the physical (e.g., temperature, humidity, ventilation, noise), chemical (e.g., carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde), and biological (e.g., microbial growth) conditions of a dwelling or other living space.

The determination of microbiological conditions causing health hazards is based on a technical investigation of the building, which maps the occurrence of moisture and microbial damage. If microbial damage is obvious and visible to the naked eye, microbiological assessments may not be necessary. Microbiological assessments in accordance with the Residential Health Regulation are carried out when needed to determine the presence of microbial growth in the structures.
